Psalm 119:33-40

In these beautiful verses, the psalmist urgently and fervently asks the Lord for instruction in His law:

Teach me your statutes and I will keep them; give me understanding so I may keep the law with my whole heart; I delight in the path your commands lead me; Incline my heart to your ways and not to selfish gain; Turn my eyes from worthless things (idols) and give me life; Your promises and rules are good; Your righteousness give me life!

These verses may be used as a prayer – an encouraging reminder of how great our God and His ways are!

Philippians 4:1-23

Verse 1 finishes Chapter 3’s instruction in straining toward the prize of the call of God in Jesus Christ.  Paul exhorts those he loves to stand firm in the Lord.

Verses 2-9
Paul entreats two women – Euodia and Syntyche – to be of the same mind, have the same love and be in full accord as in 2:2.  This call to unity is true for all believers.  He instructs we should rejoice in the Lord always and be reasonable.  To be reasonable denotes a generous spirit that rises above offenses and does not insist on personal rights.  This is the secret of joy!

Anxiousness is to be set aside, and in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let our requests be made known to God.  By doing so, the promised the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.  These verses should be the very backbone of our life. The words in the Psalm above remind how good our God is and how He can be trusted.

Paul tells us to think on God – whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, any excellence, anything worthy of praise.  By practicing what Paul has taught, we know the peace of God will be with us.

Verses 10-23
Paul returns to a theme of Chapter 1, the Philippians’ partnership in the gospel and their financial support.  Though now well supplied, he remembers his earlier need, testifying he was content to live both in plenty and in want.  The generosity of the Philippians to Paul was considered a fragrant offering , a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.  Paul perceives their gifts as an act of worship and knows God will richly bless them in return. 

Our giving of financial support and service to the community of believers we are planted in is an act of worship of God on our part as it was the Philippians.  May we love our church body through tithes, gifts and service, showing our gratitude to the Father for the blessings and gifts He has given us.

腓立比书3:1~21

  每当读保罗的书信都会让我们静下心来去感受他为主传福音的特别之处,我们都知道他在没有自由的监禁中,但是他的爱是满满的,说的每一句话语都是珍贵的,看着看着我就会流泪……

  保罗在本信中一再强调「要靠主喜乐」(2:18;3:1;4:4),是不是表明腓立比教会已经失去了在主里的喜乐。许多信徒虽然热心事奉,却没有主里的喜乐,表明他们其实是在「靠肉体」,今天读明白「喜乐」是我们与主正确关系的一个指标,我们「靠主」就有喜乐,「靠肉体」就没有喜乐。

  此时,让我想起我病危中的父亲,因为他肺癌转移胸部的肋骨已经像烧过的煤球,一碰就会塌下无法呼吸,非常严重,他特别坚强,一个非常好的人;认识他的没有一个人不说他的好,哪怕以前自私自利总找我父亲麻烦的人都说,其实“朱团长”人真好,我父亲因为病情恶化非常快,他都没有思想准备去安排后事,从发现到走只有三个月都不到。这个不是我想说的,我想分享的是我爸爸对我也是满满的爱,也在非常艰难情况下再三叮嘱我要“快乐”,说“原谅别人是你的福气啊!”

  我是得到父亲唯一的祝福人,但是我怎么也快乐不起来,我按父亲的要求命令自己原谅任何人,但是我体会不到福气在哪里?
今天让我明白这些都是肉体的,处在世事中无法脱离现实生活中的烦恼,怎么能快乐起来呢?

  感谢主!今天保罗又清楚的在书信中教导我们明白这秘笈,再一次我告诫自己:生父爱我,但是我没有找到快乐,因为当时活在世俗里,真正的快乐是喜乐,喜乐是我们与主正确关系的一个指标,我们「靠主」就有喜乐,「靠肉体」就没有喜乐。
要恢复喜乐就必须要回到主里面,什么时候不再靠肉体,什么时候就能恢复喜乐,我重复了许多遍对自己这样说…..

  今天保罗还将自己的信主前后的经历来告诉我们:
3:2~8 …….因我以认识我主基督耶稣为至宝。我为他已经丢弃万事,看作粪土,为要得着基督。(属灵的见证啊)
3:9~11,告诉我们明白真正的,“义”因信称义,为义做新人,用基督的爱让更多人认识主。
3:12起看到保罗那么谦卑在为主做见证,自己如何向着标杆直跑,在信中用呐喊声:
v13弟兄们!v17 弟兄们!读着就如同在叫着:姐妹们啊!姐妹们!朝着标杆跑吧!

  虽然我们有时会失去喜乐感,但是今天保罗告诉我们喜乐可以来衡量我们的属灵光景,使我们受到属灵的保护。我们要命令自己记住在主内的标杆直跑,这样的教导多么的珍贵啊,感谢主!理当铭记在心中…….              — Yulian Zhu

腓立比书2:1-30

  如果与基督的联结曾鼓舞了你,如果从祂而来的爱安慰过你,如果你与圣灵有任何形式的团契交通,如果你心里有一份柔软与共情,那么,请你们意念相通、爱心相同,有一样的心思,一样的意念。那样,我的喜乐就会得以成就。

  当我读到让我感动的经文时,总会忍不住把它按我的方式翻译一遍。不是篡改经文,而是让心里更有贴近的感觉。
没有认识主之前,这一切都很自然:如果感觉遭受了不平的对待、如果事情没有按照自己的想法推进、如果看哪些人或事不顺眼,会或明面指出来、或暗地跟关系近的人吐槽、或在未来的工作上不配合、甚至报复,等等。人的本性是从自己的角度去感知这个世界、和周边的人的。
形形色色的人,有形形色色的需要、有参差不齐的价值观标准,这些要满足自己的需要和对别人的要求,就带来了无数的纷争、结党、嫉妒、骄傲,这些不荣耀神的恶果。

  所以保罗在这里劝勉众人,既然你信了主,有圣灵的感动。那么请你“效法基督的谦卑,不要发怨言,起争论。凡事不可结党、不可贪图虚浮的荣耀;只要存心谦卑,各人看别人比自己强。”

  世上的抱怨其实来得很容易,可以发生在一对朋友之间,也可以发生在同事之间。比如A对C做的事有看法,A在跟好朋友B交流的时候谈到了这个。首先这会给B造成先入为主的影响。B可能根本没有注意到C有这个问题,但因为听到了A的话,下次可能就会留意,并且产生论断。如果B恰巧也关注到了这个问题,那么A与B就会快速达成共识。未来在与C的相处中,A与B会心照不宣地抵触B,或继续背地吐槽,或更加容易地与C起纷争。这样“普通”的小小的“结党”,对教会的事工会带来很大的破坏。

  保罗说,你们当以基督的心为心。怎样才以基督的心为心呢?这需要我们长期的属灵操练,有了基督的生命,才能以基督的心为心。耶稣基督倒空自己,甘心让自己成为无有,取了奴仆的形像,我们要效仿他,不是效仿祂做表面的谦虚,而是借着十字架的破碎,在神面前真实地认请自己的败坏、软弱,一无所有、一无所能的光景。
我们若准确地看见了自己,就不会把自己看高了。发怨言最主要的根源,就是觉得自己比别人强,能看到别人看不到的地方,想到别人想不到的地方。只有粉碎了自己的骄傲,才能各人看别人比自己强,才能欣赏神在别的肢体上的工作,也能注意到神借着别的肢体向我们发出的事奉的呼召。

  最后,保罗象一位老父亲一样,叮嘱自己的儿女,“凡所行的,都不要发怨言,起争论,使你们无可指摘,诚实无伪,在这弯曲悖谬的世代做神无瑕疵的儿女。你们显在这世代中,好像明光照耀,”这样,“我以你们的信心为供献的祭物,我若被浇奠在其上,也是喜乐,并且与你们众人一同喜乐。”
看到这一句的时候我有点要落泪,保罗当时已经在狱中,却能视“信徒在主里合一”为完全的喜乐,甘愿把自己的血浇奠其上献祭,可见他已经放下了自己,甚至视死如归。只要信徒将生命的道表明出来,他就在“基督的没有空跑,也没有徒劳。”

  神啊,感谢使徒保罗的这段劝勉。求您能破碎我们肉体的骄傲,让我们效仿耶稣基督的谦卑,在基督里常常顺服,能够看到别人的优秀、脱离自我,甘于配合,肢体联结合一,彼此接纳、彼此相顾,互相配搭成基督成熟的身体,共同完全教会的服事。阿门。              — Daisy Peng

Philippians 1:1-29

The style of writing with its identification of the sender and recipients, the well known greetings as well as his hallmark “I thank God…, pray for you with joy”, etc was clearly Paul’s letter to the believers in Philippi (v.1-2). Paul wrote this letter while in prison (v.14) believed to be in Rome.

Paul expressed the followings to the saints of Philippi:

  1. Thanks for their partnership in the gospel (v.5)- the Philippians showed their support to Paul by sending him gifts (Acts 16, 2 Cor 8, Phil 4:15) as well as prayers (v.19). This reminds me of the importance of sending out support financially as well as prayerfully to missionaries who serve selflessly for the sake of the gospel.
  2. His feelings toward them: The Philippians invoked thanksgiving (v.3), joy (v.4) and affection (v.8) in Paul for them. The support out of love and concern among believers strengthen their bond with each other to the glory of God.
  3. His prayer that their love may abound in knowledge and wisdom (v.9). Living in the environment ruled by the Prince of the Air, one can be easily confused, fooled or brainwashed by the world. Paul prayed that the Philippi would be able to discern what is best, so that they could stay pure and blameless thereby bearing fruit of righteousness for the glory of God. This requires time spent reading the Bible and asking the Holy Spirit to help us understand the Word of God.
  4. Ensure his imprisonment actually helped to advance the gospel (v.12). He explained that the palace guard and people knew the reason for his imprisonment was due to his stand for Christ. This actually emboldened many believers into speaking out for the Gospel (v.14). When believers live out their faith in God, it helps others to step out in faith as well.
  5. Distinguished the motives of those who preached Christ (v.15-17)-some out of rivalry and envy. They stirred up trouble for him, but there were some who did it out of love. What is our motive for teaching others about the Gospel? Is it out of our love for God and for people? Christianity with its different denominations and each has its emphasis on certain doctrines, but all recognize Jesus as the Son of God who died to save humankind from sin. Let us put away all our differences and like Paul rejoice when Christ is preached.
  6. Articulated his continual rejoicing (v.18b) despite the looming trouble ahead-persecution and death for sake of Christ (v.20-21). Paul trusted the Philippians believers would pray for him and focused on the Holy Spirit to sustain him to the end so that Jesus Christ may be exalted in him whether by life or by death (v.19-20). Pray that we may be found faithful just like Paul when tested. We will also have the peace that transcends all understanding as well as the joy in our heart.
  7. His preference to depart from this earth to be with Christ, but recognized it would benefit them more if he could be with them longer (v.23-26). To him his reward is that their joy in Jesus Christ will overflow on his account. (v.26). Most of us work to earn a reward of some kind mostly for selfish gain, be it material, earthly recognition, money, etc., but Paul craves for none of those. What he yearned for is his spiritual gain when Christ is preached and his contribution to the growth of believers in Christ.
  8. Called for unity among believers against those who opposed their faith. First, he exhorted them to live above reproach in accordance to the gospel (v.27). When Christians live a pure and blameless life, unbelievers do not have a strong stand against us. Nevertheless, persecutions of all kinds are to be expected.
  9. Encouraged the believers to stand firm and not to be frightened as this is a sign of their salvation (v.28). Paul reminded me that Christians are not only to receive Jesus as their savior, but also to suffer for Him. How have we suffered as a result of our faith? Suffering from family-see Matt 19.29; suffering from dealing with the world-see John 15:18; suffering for living righteously -see Matt 5:10. Praise God the Bible has many promises for us to hang on to when we suffer for our faith!

Living for Christ as Paul exemplified in this chapter requires prayers among believers and time spent soaking in the Word of God. Our focus on Jesus cannot be taken for granted. Living for Christ and selflessly loving others can only be achieved by depending on the muscle of Jesus Christ.            — Lai Yee

以弗所書6:1-24

v1-4:家庭合一的亲子关系,要让基督做家庭的主。

  子女的职分要“听从”父母,这比顺服更加严格。因为“听从”乃是尊敬父母 的证明。而且要“在主里听从父母”,只要不影响到对神的责任,我们应当顺从父母。听从父母是神所制定的,是要约束子女不顺从的本性。然而做父母的不要用自己的方式教育子女,使他们失去志气,不跟从神。
家庭要有纪律,但不合理的规条和无止境的挑剔,只会惹儿女的气,以至于儿女失去志气。父母要照着主的教训和警戒带进儿女的生命上,作一个自制,温和,忍耐的教导者,以满怀爱心对他们,正面鼓励,培养他们良好的人格,发挥他们的天赋,这才是作父母应尽最好的本分。

v5-9:工作关系合一,要让基督做心灵的主。

  为了生活,人都要工作,因此工作就产生了主仆的关系,或上司和下属的关系。这个关系有很大的利益关系,和前面亲属关系大不相同。
保罗提醒我们,作为神的儿女,我们都应该守住我们的地位,我们在顺服主这个功课有更好的操练。就是从心里做”,要用诚实的心听从主人如听从基督一样。尽本分,好像服事主,不像服事人。为的是得神的奖赏。不埋怨,不偷懒,不为生活吃喝而做,对于得失斤斤计较;同样做领导的,要敬畏神,履行公平公正的原则。不应利用自己职权的优越而欺压下属。主人和仆人在主面前都是一样的,有一天都要在主面前交帐。

  通过这些关系,其实就是让我们学习顺服权柄,也就是在生活里面各种关系上接受权柄,彼此谦卑的顺从和服事的亲密关系,更能增加我们对神的信心和依赖。增强教会信徒肢体合而为一的关系,和谐配搭联络得合式,教会这个基督的身体才能达到长成的身量。(弗4:13)

v10-20:“靠着主,倚赖祂的大能大力”;穿戴“神所赐的”全副军装——腓立比书4:13 我靠着那加给我力量的,凡事都能作。

  基督徒在世生活看来似在世战争,而这也确实是一场属灵的战争(12)。许多时候,我们倚靠自己的才能、聪明、方法来处理人际和事务上的问题;然而保罗在此劝勉信徒须倚靠大能大力的神(10),以及倚赖祂的供应(11),我们才徒弄清楚真正的敌人(12~13)。神已经赐下全副军装了,而我们则应该主动“拿起”!

  属灵装备从神而来,神所赐的是什么好装备呢?

1. 真理的腰带:士兵上战场,腰带的作用是用来束紧战衣的,把真理比作腰带,若我们把神的话都丢了,信仰还剩下什么?我们就会随便给魔鬼攻击,不懂分辨感动和带领来自谁,不懂分辨异端、假教师,甚至接受害人性命的错误教导。所以第一就是用真理装备自己!

2. 公义的护心镜:护心镜是用来保护心脏的,就是要保守自己的心跟随神。一生乐意行公义好怜悯,神岂能审判一个公义虔诚之人呢?

3. 平安福音的鞋:不要随便看轻传福音的工作,传福音的人被称为脚踪佳美,而且有神常与他的人同在、直到世界的末了!

4. 信德的藤牌:信德即信仰、信心,德行带出的行为。一个良心对神对人有所亏欠的基督徒,接受撒旦的控告,就会失去信心,无力抵挡魔鬼。藤牌可以保护士兵的身体不受损害,所以要殷勤操练既有信心又有行为,积极抵挡试探和魔鬼一切的诡计。

5. 救恩的头盔:基督耶稣已经在十字架上为人成就了救恩,我们已经因信称义了;信仰的根基不稳,直接被打垮,更别说能得胜了。所以说,要用真理当带子束腰,更要用信心接受真理!

6. 圣灵的宝剑,就是神的道:前五种装备,都是保护措施。但得着圣灵,就必得着能力和恩赐。如同圣灵宝剑拥有攻击性,神的道是我们得胜的武器!在圣灵里的祷告,帮助我们与神同工,“拿起”属灵装备的人,就如13节所说:不仅可以抵挡仇敌,成就一切神在我们身上的旨意;末了,仇敌失败,我们不仅得胜,还能毫发无伤地站立地住!靠着神,得着完全的胜利!

  属灵的争战是必须会持续到主再来的。所以我们要在神面前有能力,在魔鬼面前要刚强壮胆、积极抵挡。然而,我们却往往是在神面前软弱、不顺服,而在魔鬼面前软化、无力。求主怜悯我们!

v21-24 保罗以祝福语作为结束──其中都是一些非常重要的字。
平安──有神的同在、自我心灵平静、与人彼此和睦,
信心──在基督里完全的安心,
恩惠──上帝爱的白白的恩赐,保罗在上帝面前祈求,将这一切赐给他的朋友。
最要紧的,他向上帝求爱,并惟有以爱回应,才能继续奇妙又丰盛地领受神所赐下的慈爱和恩惠。【弗六24】
并愿所有诚心爱我们主耶稣基督的人,都蒙恩惠。阿门! — Lusheng

以弗所書5:1-33

  孩子在父母的形象中成長,那麼基督徒也理所當然將自己放在神的話語中成長。保羅教導神的話語清楚明瞭沒有矛盾,這也是基督徒鑒察自己最好的準則。

「效法神,好像蒙慈愛的兒女一樣」

  從古至今無人脫離的了黑暗與罪的枷鎖,而基督的救恩徹底救贖了我們的罪,這恩典是無私無條件的,當我們領受的同時,正像孩子學習父母的形象,從中成長,而成長的過程中,各種撒旦的詭計與誘惑卻也同時存在,保羅要我們定意作好神的兒女,與惡分別出來,這裡提到的污穢、貪婪、貪心、淫詞、妄語不但不可行,連提都不可提,與人相處,若戲笑、說大話也無傷大雅的話那就與神隔絕、又墜入黑暗與罪同夥了。
做基督的兒女,享受恩典也在學習付出回饋,就像孩子是父母的驕傲,而我們將榮耀歸於天父,活出他賦予我們的一切,再傳遞給身邊的人,以愛為出發點,有捨己服侍的心,口說造就人的話,讓彼此感受溫暖,互相扶持成長,這良善、謙卑,憐憫,使人心靈豐富得到滿足,也就使神得榮耀,使人得益處了!

「行事為人當像光明的子女」

  神就是光(約一1:5),那這一句話的對應應該就是,撒旦是黑暗,當人們選擇拒絕基督時,那他就陷入撒旦的黑暗中了,黑暗總是讓人看不清楚,摸不著頭序,跌跌撞撞,嘗盡苦頭,身邊就算是有香甜的果子也夠不著,伸出幫助的手也體會不到,這時如果能有一點點的亮光,眼睛就看見了。
若遇到別人要求做不討神喜悅的事情,而我們因為明白主的教導,就憑著公義作正確迅速的判斷,憑著誠實告知對錯,憑著良善作為他人的亮光,顯明罪惡使人悔改,罪就不再黑暗,因為一切能顯明的就是光(以5:13),越多的光照,越少的邪惡,越多的恩典祝福取代彎曲悖謬的世代。

「當像智慧人」

  屬世的智慧人是什麼樣子!屬靈的智慧人又是什麼樣子?
對照古今中外的學問,加上科技潮流的走向方針,堆疊出來各種不同主張的智慧人,或者,明白主旨意的智慧人。時代在變、發展更多從前沒有的觀念、學習的知識更廣泛無邊,一但不小心學習偏了方向或起了矛盾,更是讓人無所適從心力交瘁。既然我們是寄居的客旅,短暫的客旅人生,更應該珍惜當下所有,我們要追求的是屬世的物質直到人生終點,還是脫掉軀殼的靈可進入永生的國度?我們的盼望在哪?智慧就到那!

「要聖靈充滿、要讚美主、要感謝主」

我們因為基督耶穌而重生,因此聖靈住進我們心中,我們所得的聖靈的果子:仁愛、喜樂、和平、忍耐、恩慈、良善、信實、溫柔、節制,從生命中自然流露,這是人教不會,埋頭苦幹努力工作也得不來的,神的恩典何其大?想到這,讚美感謝主變成一種不經思考的反射言語,時時與神交通,讀神的話,明白神的旨意,讓我們的聖靈充充滿滿,活出榮神益人的美好見證。

  最後這一段講到夫妻間的關係,說到妻子要順服丈夫,單看這句話會有誤解,但保羅用基督與教會做比喻;丈夫是妻子的頭,如同基督是教會的頭…….教會怎樣順服基督,妻子也要怎樣凡事順服丈夫(v23-24),這句話看起來似乎就有道理多了!
若把丈夫當成是一個工頭,工人若意見多,這工程鐵定做不好,順服丈夫是一個命令,因為神的話沒有混淆不清,若這個家庭順服丈夫,那個家庭順服妻子,家庭沒了基本準則,那豈不亂?教會不順服基督,那還稱教會嗎?同樣地,丈夫也要愛妻子,如同基督愛教會,也如同愛自己的身子,因為頭跟身體不可分開,沒有一個環節不重要,只有環環相扣,位置對了才合一了,才起作用了!

  親愛的天父,你的旨意包含著隱藏的奧秘,也包含著顯明的教導,願我們定意作一個明白並遵循你旨意的智慧人,珍惜光陰,傳遞美善,尊重並順服每一個人的位置與本分,不越界,不行你眼中看為惡的事,時時思想你、感謝你,讚美你!阿們!       — Tracy Chou

Psalm 119:25-32

In these 8 lines we see the writer’s passion for God. He asks God to give him life, to teach him His statutes and to give understanding of His precepts.  He asks God for strength and to teach him His law.  We should pray that God’s Spirit would generate this passion in us!  The writer makes choices to put false ways aside, to learn God’s rules, to cling to His testimonies and to run in the way of God’s commands.  (The ‘New Life’ discussed in Ephesians 4 below.)

Think of the action words he uses:  Put Aside, Learn, Cling, Run.  I especially like Cling and Run.  I think of a child holding tight to his parent and running when he hears his Father call.  May we, as children of God, do the same.

Ephesians 4:1-32

Verses 1-16 Unity in the Body of Christ

In these verses, Paul calls us to walk in a manner worthy of our calling.  Humility, Gentleness, Patience, Love – these words describe not only how we are to live, but who we are to be.  We are one body with one Spirit, one Hope, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of all.  Yet, though we are one in many ways, God has also given each of us particular gifts that benefit the church.

Jesus took on a human nature and lowered Himself to serve us.  We are to do the same.  His death on the cross set us free and we can now use the gifts given each of us to build up the body of Christ.  We are, through the unity of faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature to adulthood in Him.  As grown children of God, we are not tossed to and fro by false doctrine, human cunning and deceitful schemes.

We are to speak the truth IN LOVE and grow up to Him who is the head – Christ.  The whole body is held together by Him and when we do as He equipped us to do, the body grows in love.  There is no room for selfish agendas in these verses.

Verses 17-32 The New Life

Paul uses VERY strong words in these verses to tell us to no longer walk in sinful ways – in futility.  He uses the words: Darkened, Alienated, Ignorant, Hard Hearted, Calloused, Sensual, Greedy, Impure, Corrupt, Deceitful.  These all describe separation from God – NOT the way of Christ.  We are to put off our ‘Old Self’ as describe above and put on the ‘New Self’.

The ‘New Self’ is created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.  We put away falsehood and speak truth.  We do not sin in our anger and we do not let the sun go down on our anger.  We do not steal, we do honest work.  We do not speak with corruption, but only what is good for building up.  We do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, who has sealed us.  Bitterness, wrath, anger , clamor, slander and malice are to go.  Instead we are to be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving – just as Christ forgave us.

Conclusion

I feel Ephesians 4 is like a spiritual compass for each of us to examine ourselves by daily.  If we find we are behaving in an ‘Old Self’ manner, we need to immediately pray and ask Jesus for help that we may remember who we are in Him and the ‘New Self’ He give us.  When we have offended God and likely hurt others by ‘Old Self’ bad behavior, we need to seek forgiveness and continue to move forward into the ‘New Life’ the Holy Spirit helps us to live.  His Word is our greatest help in becoming more like Him.             — Mary Mauderer

  本章用“因此”连接前章书信,用非常特别的话写道:因此,我保罗为你们外邦人作了基督耶稣被囚的,替你们祈祷。
很明显看到保罗在牢中,在做什么?第一节写得非常的特别,一点也没有牢狱之灾的味道,因为保罗的灵里没有被捆绑。他虽然是在罗马的囚犯,却没有公认,并自称是作了基督耶稣被囚的。他得胜秘诀是轻看世上的,想着天上的,保罗的灵与基督同在天上是带着平安喜乐蒙恩的心在传福音,真是让人敬佩,感谢主!

  保羅之所以能如此,是因為「藉著他(神)的灵,叫你們心裏力量剛強起來」(3:16),保罗不是靠自己的修为、意志、毅力胜过环境,胜过肉体的软弱,乃是神的灵加給我們心里的力量,就是圣灵內住我們心里,或是耶稣基督在我們里面。保罗在(3:20)說,「神能照著運行在我們心裏的大力充充足足地成就一切,超過我們所求所想的。」

  在这章中我不会去详细解读经文,但是我查找许多资料帮助我去理解,因为书信写给外邦人,今天读来就是我们要去面对些什么,明白什么才有意义。
对我来说,哪怕就一点点启示也是非常蒙恩的,他就像一盏盏明灯在灵命成长中光照着我们,保罗的书信是来自上帝的恩典,就像诗篇119:105说:“你的话是我脚前的灯,是我路上的光”。

  今天读这些也让我想起前些日子在百年不遇冰雪严寒中,在断电断水无法出门开车工作时,我们是不是收到许多亲人担忧的问候,我儿子半夜急得呼我你快点回国吧?我除了感动家人朋友的关心,心里更多的是平安和忍耐,无需担忧什么。来电了我们依然节约用电,因为首先想着的是克服困难也许可以让更多的人早点恢复正常。像窗外的雪一样,好美好美的经历,所谓美好是因为这些都是来自神的恩典让自己充满爱和平安喜乐吧!

  本章中,保罗提到福音的奥秘和基督的奥秘,称道奥秘,感觉不是一般性可以预知的,那么这里要告诉我们的是什么呢?
在保罗写信给加拉太教会信里有福音,那么这里加了二个字福音奥秘怎么去理解呢?Google一下会有许多的说法,感觉我不能分享这些,我对圣经学习和理解是很浅薄的,但是我坚信学习一定会加给的能力让我提高的,今天让我看到福音和基督的奥秘到底是什么?我有一种感觉简单清楚但无法说的清楚,也许这就是上帝留给我的功课吧!

  上帝啊!我的天父蒙你的恩惠在疫情严重和百年不遇的灾情中,我都能平平安安地健健康康的我真是多么有福啊!

  關於奧秘,本章提到「基督的奧秘」、「福音的奧秘」。
  既是「奧秘」就是「不為人所知」、「人所不能知」、「人所不必知」,有關神自己的屬性、旨意、作為(神蹟奇事)、計畫(揀選)的事。
  在3:4同時提到「奧秘」與「啟示」,神要我們明白有關神的事,就藉著他自己的話語、先知的信息,就是聖經,給人啟示;最重要、最大的啟示,就是道成肉身的主耶穌基督,神自己親自的啟示。
  神的啟示是漸進的,直到主耶穌基督完成普世的救恩,啟示就完全了

  神要我們明白的,都已經記在聖經裡,並有耶穌基督自己啟示下來了。只要認真的研讀聖經,就能明白神的啟示。但神所沒有啟示的,就是神的奧秘,是「人所不能知」、「人所不必知」的事

  「基督的奧秘」,耶穌是三位一體的神的自己,道成了肉身,由童貞女從聖靈感孕而誕生在世上,成為人;為世人而死,又從死裡復活,又再升天,回到父神的右邊。所以,耶穌是完全的神也是完全的人。這是奧秘,我們雖然知道了,但實在不能明白或解釋是怎麼成就的。

  「福音的奧秘」,是指著神的救恩、神的揀選是臨及普世萬國萬民。
這在舊約時期是不可能的,因為那時候神向挪亞、亞伯拉罕、雅各立約,在萬民中單單揀選以色列民為神自己立約的選民。外邦人與神的救恩無份。
  但神的心意還是要萬國萬民都能得到救恩,於是由耶穌基督在十字架上替代世人的罪,替世人付出罪的贖價,就是死,又從死裡復活。這就是耶穌基督救恩的福音,而基督救恩福音是使普世萬國萬民都可以成為神的選民、神的兒女的「奧秘」作為。

  福音的奧秘,這裡還有一個更深一層的奧秘,是難以透澈明白的。──
因信得救、因信得生、因信稱義。

  信必須悔改,這「信」是人的主動,還是神的揀選?是先「相信」,還是先「悔改」?

  您問說,「耶稣的舍己还是没有拯救到所有人」,基督的救恩是普世的,但不是世人都蒙恩得救。
  聖經也說,(弗1:4-7)「神從創立世界以前,在基督裏揀選了我們,使我們在他面前成為聖潔,無有瑕疵;5 又因愛我們,就按著自己意旨所喜悅的,預定我們藉著耶穌基督得兒子的名分,6 使他榮耀的恩典得著稱讚;這恩典是他在愛子裏所賜給我們的。7 我們藉這愛子的血得蒙救贖,過犯得以赦免,乃是照他豐富的恩典。」

  這樣看來,我們信、我們得救,是神的主動,是神的揀選與預定。
  主耶穌也說過:【約16:8】「他(聖靈)既來了,就要叫世人為罪、為義、為審判,自己責備自己。」
  一個多年以來不信主的人,之所以會認識自己是罪人,會認罪悔改,會尋求基督的救贖,都是聖靈在我們心裡動工,使我們內心受感動。
然而,聖經又說,我們得救,是「本乎恩,也因著信」,這也說明我們內心有了聖靈的感動,就要信,就要有信的行動表現──謙卑自己,相信基督,接受基督為救主、為生命的主,尊崇神、敬畏神,渴慕聖經真理,遵行神的旨意與話語。
如果硬著心(硬著頸項)拒絕,仍是不能得著普世的救恩福音。

  如此,誰是神所揀選的、預定的?誰會信主、誰會得救?
  這也是奧秘,因為那是神的主權、神的計畫、神的作為,就如窯匠與泥土,窯匠有主權將同樣的泥土做成不同的器皿,器皿不知道窯匠會如何塑造,器皿也不能抗議窯匠。

  為此,
我們只有感恩,因為神愛世人,差祂的獨生愛子耶穌基督來到世上拯救我們。
我們只有感恩,因為神揀選了我們,讓我們被聖靈感動,願意向主耶穌基督認罪悔改,以至於因信得救、因信稱義、因信得永生。              Solomon Liu

以弗所书 2:1-22

  这一章节的第一部分是“在基督里活过来”。

  每一个人从出生就处于灵性死亡的状态,已经与神所赐的生命隔绝。这段经文告诉我们,是神让我们在死在过犯中的时候,与基督耶稣一同活过来。而且,神的救恩是出于恩典,而不是我们的行为。

  以弗所当时娱乐业繁荣、拥有古代最大的可容纳25,000观众的环形大剧场。这样声色犬马的生活中,处处充满“肉体的情欲、眼目的情欲,并今生的骄傲”。
保罗在这封书信里,提醒当时的人们、以及现在的我们 —— 我们本是因着罪性随从今世的风俗、价值观,顺服空中掌权者的首领撒但的,但是神由着丰富的怜悯和爱我们的大爱,让我们与基督耶稣一同活过来,并与祂一同坐在天上。当神的光照进我们的生命里,我们从神得着基督里的新生命,虽然活在地上,却过着属天的生活,有属天的思想、情感、观点,用属天的角度来察看一切。

  而这得救本乎恩,也因着信,不是出于自己,也不是出于行为。每个世代都有人“自夸”可以凭律法、凭良心活出蒙神悦纳的善,但这种自夸本身就是骄傲,是不蒙神悦纳的罪。为神做工是“神所预备我们行的”,所以左手做的事,不用让右手知道。爱主但是不用做秀。如果是为表现自己而行善、做工,而不是顺应圣灵行事,那么没有眼见、预期的回应时,就会丧志、灰心。

  这一章节的第二部分是“在基督里合而为一”,强调了我们神的子民的身份。

  我们中间的大部分都是移民来美国的。都是先以一个外国人的身份,逐渐拿到美国永久居留权,最后成为美国公民。公民是一个身份。在国内,除了公民身份之外,还有一个“户口”的制度。户口相当于一个城市或地区的“公民“身份,在国内的一线大城市,户口的地位也更加凸显,比如没有户口,买房买车会受到限制,最重要的是孩子上学会受到极大的影响。因此,在北京没有户口,经济能力又一般的人,就会经常会因为生活的不稳定被形容为“北漂”。

  我们在这个世界上就象浮萍一样飘着,直到神的救恩临到我们。让我们和睦,拆毁了隔断外邦人的那道墙。我们过的本来是没有指望的日子,现在神不仅让我们白白拥有了他的国的“公民”身份,还成为了神家里的人。试想,我们刚刚踏上异国土地的时候,如果有人邀请你去他家做客,是不是心里都感到异常温暖?更何况是给你一间房,象家人一样与他们共同生活、共同建造呢?

  这个周日牧师讲道时提到:过去是重建圣殿,现在,圣殿就是我们的身体。我们要重建我们自己的圣殿,要让神居住得舒服,让我们的思想、意念都不再是重视地上的事物、名利、荣辱,要一生一意地爱慕天上的基业。这就是保罗说的“你们也靠祂同被建造,成神藉着圣灵居住的所在”(22节)。

  记得多年前在北京的一个单身活动(实质就是相亲)上,大家在做自我介绍的时候,我奇怪地发现,女生们很多都看似轻描淡写、实际非常突出的重点地说,我是谁谁谁,老家哪里,现在北京“定居”。虽然“定居”这个词很含糊,但显然是为了回避“北漂”的思维定势,以有能力扎下根来增加婚恋的砝码。本来我对强调身份这种东西很不屑,但是听多了,就很烦,让我有种冲动,在我自我介绍的时候,就干脆说,我有北京户口、有房。我想,如果我真的那么做了,虽然听上去很俗气,但那一刻又是特别有底气、又解气的吧!

  现在的我,带着对丈夫的爱、和对更美好社会的向往,继续漂到了美国这个国家。我知道,在几年前,移民政策收紧的时候,很多只拿绿卡的中国人纷纷加速了对美国公民的申请。因为,没有这个身份,生活就多很多的变数,甚至在政策变动的时候可能无法存留下来。如果世上的身份对我们如此重要,那么,在世上客旅的我们,只因信就有了神的国的公民身份,就有了丰富的恩典和被祝福的生活,是何等美哉、幸哉!如果世上的身份给我们带来的是经济、生活的保障,那么天上的身份带给我们的则是心里永久的喜乐与平安。            — Daisy Peng

Ephesians 1:1-23

Paul wrote this letter to believers in Ephesus. He sent his greetings of grace and peace to the saints there ( v.1-2)

Paul expounded on the spiritual blessings of believers in Christ:

  • Our predestination- God chose us before the creation of the world. (v. 4, 11)
  • We are adopted as His children. (v. 5)
  • We are sealed with the Holy Spirit who guarantees our heavenly inheritance. (v. 14)

Indeed what undeserving blessings for any of us! Paul drew attention to God’s many awesome attributes which are worthy of our praises:

  • Forethought and purpose- God chose us to be holy and blameless (v. 4) and according to His plan to fulfill the purpose of His will (v. 11). God’s will is good, pleasing and perfect.
  • Love- God predestined us to be adopted as His children through Jesus Christ (v.5). Think about the inheritance of a child of King!
  • Grace- God’s forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ (v.7). Undeserving grace, but freely given to us.
  • Wisdom- God will bring all things on earth and in heaven together under the headship of Jesus Christ (v.10). All knees will bow to Jesus Christ one day, whether in obedience or fall under His feet awaiting judgment. (v. 23)

Paul gave thanks for the Ephesians believers who put their faith in Jesus and showed their love to all the saints (v. 15-16). It is always a pleasure especially to see a growing Christian, so much so that many believers often will give thanks for their growing faith and love in Christ. Paul expressed specifically in his prayer that:

  • God will give the Ephesians a Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that they may know God better.
  • The eyes of their heart may be enlightened, so that they may know the hope to which they were called.
  • The Ephesians may recognize the riches of their inheritance and God’s incomparable power with them. The power that raised Jesus from the dead and elevated Him to the right hand of God.

Paul reminds me about the importance of praying specifically for others especially for my unbelieving family in regards to coming to know Him and understanding the gospel. May God’s spiritual blessings, love and grace overflow to them as well.           — Lai Yee
