Number 24:1-25

Balaam uttered 3 more oracles: the third oracle was a blessing upon the nation of Israel, followed by a Messianic prophesy.

The last oracle was a curse upon the nations which the Israelites were going to drive out. Balak’s invitation to Balaam to curse the Israelites boomeranged on himself, much to the horror of the king of Moab, who quickly ushered Balaam to leave.

It is interesting to see how God could use Balaam, a fickle minded prophet who had one foot on following God’s command and the other on following after his lust for material things.
Just as Psa 33:10-11 says “The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.

Psalm 37:1-40

This Psalm is an encouragement to those who trusted in God, but have yet to reap his rewards.  Inspired by the Holy Spirit, David encouraged believers to put their focus on God.
Although sometimes the wicked and evil appeared to have an upper hand, God will ultimately be the judge. The wicked will reap what they sow, and the righteous will receive the desires of his heart.
Praise be to the Lord for His everlasting faithfulness!          —- Lai Yee Leong
